Nick Cave
Featured in 2010 September Vogue Performance Artist, Nick Cave creates intricate shaggy fur, monster costumes. In the Vogue photo shoot Nick Caves poses in his animated suits. He proves that fur can transform even the most traditional accessories into something as Vogue says, “fantastical.” Cave tailors imaginary suits that are fashion, sculpture, and clothing characters. Most of his pieces are multiple media installations that are wearable sculptures intended to move and perform. My favorite costume was the Plush Interior which is a punky look.
What do you think of the fashion trends Monsters? The vibrant shaggy fur is lime green, blue, orange yellow, and black. I am very excited to see Nick Cave: Meet Me at the Center of the Earth at the Seattle Art Museum March 5, 2011 through Jun 5, 2011. Cave’s new collection exhibits an African masquerade. This exhibit is the first major assembly of art by Cave to tour museums and set the stage for the center of the earth, where sound suits have found a sanctuary.
